Carl ANDREASSON

Director and President, Grey Direct Nordic and MD Grey Global Group Sweden in Stockholm. Grey is the leading Communication Group in the Nordic area. Graduated Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Marketing, University of Lund and Stockholm. He worked with the major banks and insurance companies, Sparbanken, Handelsbanken and Nordea, for 15 years with marketing and specialised in Direct Marketing. 1988 he was one of the key persons to build the inhouse Direct Marketing unit for Nordea in Stockholm which still is a success. 1993 he joined Grey as MD for Almén Direct and today he is President for Grey Direct Nordic operations with offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki and Oslo.

Johan ANDRÉASSON

Grew up in Osby in the southernmost part of Sweden. After graduation from High School in his hometown, he moved to Gothenburg to enter the Merchant Marine School. He graduated in 1999. After working as an officer and chief officer in different shipping sectors (high speed ferry, chemical tankers, Ro- Ro) he decided to disembark for good in December 2001. In January 2002 he joined Entry Systems and became head of the Marine department at the head office in in Gothenburg. Entry Systems is a Swedish-Norwegian company established in 1986 with offices in Sweden and Norway. The company has grown steadily and is presently part of the Entry group, which consists of companies specializing in safety/security systems. The marine concept contains Boarding & Cabin administration and Gangway control for passengers and Time & Attendance /Safety Manning system/Access Control for crews.

Klas BROGREN

Grew up in the coastal town of Halmstad which fuelled his early passion for shipping. After graduation from Senior High School, his hobby became his profession when, in 1977, he became a Trainee with Tor Line in Gothenburg. This was followed by five years with shipbrokers Ivar Lundh & Co AB in Stockholm where he was active in S&P and chartering, specialising in passenger shipping. In 1981, he returned to his hometown to become a partner in Marine Trading which for many years held the management contract for Prince of Fundy Cruises, a cruise ferry service between Maine, USA - Nova Scotia, Canada. As the need of market information expanded, he developed this in his own company Plus 2 Ferryconsultation AB, which later registered ShipPax Information as its marketing name. Today, the publications of the company have subscribers in over 60 countries and a comprehensive shipping database has also been developed. ShipPax Information has gained international recognition and Klas Brogren has been assigned for several consultancy studies as well as presentations at conferences, workshops etc.

Kai H.E. BUNGE

Born in 1958, he grew up at the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and studied architecture in Hamburg. In 1983 he qualified as Dipl. Ing in architecture. Until 1985 he worked with interior design for luxury residences, retail and hotels. Since 1985 he specialized in design and construction within the marine industry by three years (1985-1987) free-lance work for one of the worlds leading yards in the cruiseship sector (Meyer-Werft, Germany). From 1987 to 1990 he became involved with project like the MS CINDERELLA and the MS CRYSTAL HARMONY.

In 1991 together with his partner Siegfried Schindler he founded the design company PARTNER-SHIP-DESIGN with it's headquarter in Hamburg. Today the design company is well known for it's creativity and successful design concepts. Ships like the SY SEA CLOUD, the MS DEUTSCHLAND and the AIDA and AROSA ships are from the drawing boards of PARTNER-SHIP-DESIGN. Kai Bunge´s special interest is the development and design of new inventive concepts for ferries and cruise ships.

Magnus EHRENBERG

Was born in 1964 in Malmö where he also went to study for a degree in political science. From 1984 till 1987 he was the Mayor of Malmö's press-secretary. Until 1988 Magnus Ehrenberg also served as member of Malmö's town parliament. In 1989 he moved to Germany where he coordinated the PR-activities for the CDU-party in Hamburg. Having always been particularly interested in shipping, Ehrenberg joined the ferry-company EUROWAY in 1990. He worked at the company's German dependancy until 1992. In 1993 he moved into the public relations market and founded his own company EHRENBERG Marketing & Kommunikation, which in 2003 is working for five ferry-companies, a number of touristic destinations and other clients.

Linda FREDHEIM-BJÖRK

is Director Group Brands and Image in the SAS Group headquatered in Stockholm, Sweden. After graduating in International Business and Marketing from Hofstra University, New York 1984, she joined SAS as a management trainee in Norway. She has held numerous positions within Scandinavian Airlines; amongst them Sales and Marketing Manager, Rome, Italy, Head of Inhouse Ad Agency, SAS representative in Branding Star Alliance and last but not least, Director Marketing and Brands globally for the airline. In July 2001 Mrs. Fredheim-Björk joined a new Group function responsible for all brands withtin the SAS Group portfolio. This includes developing brand structure and brand systems for the six airlines and all supporting and independent business units within the Group.

Williams Gibbons has been director of the Passenger Shipping Association (PSA) since April 1994. Since that time he has worked to actively promote the UK cruising industry to UK holidaymakers and the travel trade, through the PSA's Passenger Shipping Association Retail Agents scheme (PSARA). The PSA is the trade association for both cruise and ferry companies based in the UK and currently has 38 cruise and 21 ferry members. The PSA is now seen as the main industry voice for commercial matters as well as a source of information and advice for the public.

From 1990 to 1994 William was an independent management consultant, working particularly in the ferry industry, whilst also studying for an MBA degree. William previously held the post of general manager of Sealink Isle of Wight ferries, prior to which he was the service manager and then ferry line manager for the Harwich Hook of Holland ferry route. William was previously assistant shipping and port manager for the Port of Harwich and worked on the Channel Island services from Portsmouth. William has two children and lives in London and Dorset.

Anette HAUGAARD

is Vice President of Commercial Affairs in Copenhagen Airports A/S. Copenhagen Airports A/S owns and operates the Danish airports at Kastrup and Roskilde and has a share in a number of airports in Britain, Mexico and China. The Commercial Affairs department deals with the running of the airport shopping centre, administration of the parking facilities and advertising activities and campaigns. She holds an M.Sc in International Business Administration from the University of Aalborg, and before joining Copenhagen Airports in the year 2001, she worked primarily in the fields of tourism and marketing. Her previous employments include 6 years as marketing manager with DFDS Seaways .

Yoshiho IKEDA

is a professor of Department of Marine System Engineerig of Osaka Prefecture University, Japan. He graduated in naval architecture from the graduate school of the same university in 1978 and got a doctor degree for a study on roll damping of ships. In the university, he worked as research assistant, lecturer, associate professor, and is a professor now. His main research subjects are seakeeping of ships, vortex shedding flows, performance high speed craft, economics of passenger ships, planning of marine transport and damage stability of ships. His hobby is to take photographs of all kinds of ships, particularly passenger ships. He published 24 books on ships, publish a magazine entitled SHIPS & PORT four times a year and publish a book entitled FERRY & CRUISE SHIP every year.

Markku Kalevi KANERVA

is Director, Business Development, with Deltamarin Ltd in Raisio, Finland. He graduated in naval architecture and marine engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology in 1974 and worked for a year as a project engineer with Valmet Oy, Helsinki Shipyard, before joining Oy Wärtsilä Ab, Turku Shipyard. He was first a Group Manager responsible for passenger ship sales projects and subsequently Product Manager for cargo ships and fishing vessels. Since 1985 Mr. Kanerva has worked for consulting and engineering companies mainly with passenger ship projects, feasibility studies as well as research and development for various shipping companies, investors and shipyards.

Managing Director of Fuore Design. Graduated in Business Administration from the University of Munich in 1990 and dedicated her entire career to Corporate Design and building brand image. After five years of managing brand implementation for Audi, she signed responsible for the new Corporate Design of SEAT worldwide, from 1995 onwards. In the year 2000 she joined Fuore Design as Managing Director. Fuore Design is an independent design studio specialized in the transportation sector. Fuore Design's uniqueness is brand design which combines product with corporate design, a service which many global companies trust in. The team consists of 25 people of eight different nationalities and the clients are spread all over the world, from America over Europe to Japan.

is professor at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg. He studied Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture at Hannover/Hamburg and graduated 1987 as Naval Architect. PhD in 1992 at Hamburg, Institut für Schiffbau. From 1993 he worked at Flensburger Schiffbau- Gesellschaft, first EDP- Development, later Manager Basic Design. Since 2001 Professor at the Technical University of Hamburg Harburg leading the Department of Ship Design and Information Technology. His main field of interest is the transfer of scientific computational methods from the research stage into practical and competitive ship design

is currently Head of Shipping Sweden of the Nordea Banking Group and is based in Gothenburg. Mr. Kuhnle graduated from The American Graduate School of Int'l Mgmt in 1980 and worked for the Shipping Team of Manufacturers Hanover Trust in New York and Oslo from 1980-1986. In 1986 Mr. Kuhnle became Head of Corporate Finance Shipping in the Vesta Group of Bergen before joining Christiania Benk New York as Head of Shipping in January 1990. Mr. Kuhnle returned to Christiania Bank Shipping in Oslo in 1994 as Head of Offshore, Cruise and Ferries and later in 2000 became Head of Int'l Corporate Shipping before moving to Gothenburg in November 2002.

With a background in Finance, he is working for more than 10 years in the marine field and joined Barry Rogliano Salles in 1998 as Shipbroker in the Newbuilding Department. Barry Rogliano Salles (BRS) is one of the largest shipbroking companies in the world. Erik ØSTERGAARD

ERIK ØSTERGAARD (44) is Director, Operations at Scandlines AG. Mr. Østergaard is responsible for the operation of Scandlines route network comprising 14 ferry routes in the Baltic Sea carrying in total 24 million passengers, 4 million cars and 1 million cargo units. Furthermore Mr. Østergaard is within the Scandlines Group responsible for HR, purchasing, ship- and port operations. Mr. Østergaard is a trained shippingman and business economist. He has studied international economics and management at Copenhagen Business School, IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland and Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago from where he holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Østergaard has 25 years of experience in business, shipping and ferry operations gained from employment in consultancy, government, shipping and ferry companies.

He is chairman of the board of the Danish Car Ferry Owners Association, Scandlines subsidiary Scandlines Sydfynske A/S and member of the board of listed ferry operator Mols-Linien A/S, Scandlines I/S, Svenske Rederiaktiebolaget Öresund, Maritime Development Centre of Europe and Sydfynske Foundation. Furthermore Mr. Østergaard is member of a number of committees in Danish Shipowners Association, Swedish Shipowners Association and ECSA.

Johnni Overbye has worked within the travel industry for more than 20 > years. After his studies at the Danish Economic University he started in the industry as Marketing Manager in a small charter company. The last 4 years in that company as Managing Director. After that he entered the cruise ferry industry as Passenger Director in Denmark for DFDS Seaways. Johnni Overbye changed positions in September 2001 to Managing Director For the fairly new Scandinavian low budget airline, Sterling Johnni Overbye is 45 years of age, married and with two children.

Strategic Planning Director at DDB Copenhagen since 1996. DDB is one of the largest and most creative advertising companies in Denmark. Eva is Msc. Of Sociology from University of Lund and has for ten years worked within the field of branding and advertising. From a business, marketing and consumer perspective she works with some of the biggest brands in Europe and the Nordic region in the areas of branding, implementation, consumer-understanding, communication strategy etc. She is in charge of all the large consumer studies at DDB consumer studies at DDB as well as being a frequent speaker at conferences. Besides this she leads the large branding processes for the clients of the agency of which the business of passenger shipping also has been represented.

After gaining a Bachelor of Commerce at Lund University in 1972, he was appointed to Marketing Management Assistant with Lion Ferry AB, Sweden. Three years later, he was promoted to Marketing Manager which included management of the Varberg-Grenå (Denmark) route. In 1978, he became International Passenger Manager with overall sales and marketing responsibility for all Lion Ferry's routes.

In 1981, he moved to DFDS Helsingborg as Line Manager. After two years, he became Managing Director of DFDS in Hamburg, Germany, where his contribution to management changes and restructuring led to the company becoming profitable again. Continuing with DFDS, but this time being based in Copenhagen, in 1984, he became Group Director and head of all DFDS Seaways' passenger routes. In the year 2000, he was appointed CEO and Managing Director for DFDS Seaways and Director of DFDS Group Executive Board, again based in Copenhagen. After seventeen years working away from his family Monday-Friday, he decided to leave DFDS and instead work as a Management Consultant based in Halmstad, using his many years of international experience.
